Where Are You Going?

Ugh! We have millipedes. This morning as I picked up the fourth one to throw in the toilet, my Abba stopped me for a minute. He said, ” Do you see this millipede? He runs from morning to night not getting anywhere. A bump in the road changes its direction to the next path. It never rests until it dies.”

How many of us are on that path of toiling, changing paths when it gets hard, and doing things in our way and in our own strength. Whew! He gave me some Scripture to reinforce what He was showing me.

Psalm 127:1-2 tells us; 1 If God doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks. If God doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap.

2 It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?”

Proverbs 3:5-12 “Trust God from the bottom of your heart;

don’t try to figure out everything on your own.

Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;

he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Don’t assume that you know it all.

Run to God! Run from evil!

Your body will glow with health,

your very bones will vibrate with life!

Honor God with everything you own;

give him the first and the best.

Your barns will burst,

your wine vats will brim over.

But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;

don’t sulk under his loving correction.

It’s the child he loves that God corrects;

a father’s delight is behind all this.”

Reread those and notice the last sentence, “a Father’s delight is behind ALL this!”

We don’t have to be like the millipede. We are HIS Children and He loves us! Our Father’s delight is behind ALL this!
